Experience
I find that building a relationship with my students is the best way to build a foundation that will foster their learning. Once I am able to determine their interests, I can begin to connect them to the material we are studying. I find there is an inherent curiosity in students to pursue further education when they have a direct connection to the material and when they feel that the material has a practical application in their world. My goal is to have students eager to learn and to continue making academic strides towards their goals, even after we have finished our work together. My objective is to provide a welcoming and safe learning atmosphere for my students to grow in. I received my bachelor's in Latin American Studies at the University of Michigan. With four years of experience in tutoring the Language Arts, I have a vast array of wealth to share in reading, vocab, writing, grammar, and communication. Additionally, I speak fluent Spanish and am capable of tutoring up to level 3 Spanish. I have the ability to find the similarities of English and Spanish that help students quickly recognize and develop their new language. When I am not working, I enjoy astronomy, traveling, geography, catching up on current events, photography, and watching sports.
