Proficient in both Math and Science, I am a graduate in Biological Science from the University of California at Irvine in pursuit of a doctorate degree in Pharmacy. For the past three years, I have enjoyed tutoring young children through college students in a variety of subjects. I have also had the opportunity to teach the Vietnamese language to young people, which has been a gratifying experience at Sunday Temple.My method is to encourage students to learn at their own pace. I begin with a half-hour to an hour of homework assistance, followed by time for the student to work on specific problems, and then a period of review to make sure that the student understands all the concepts involved in the exercise.While my concentration in the sciences is very strong, I also tutor math subjects ranging from beginning Mathematics to Algebra 1, in addition to Biology, Psychology and Physiology. At the moment, I tutor a middle school student in pre-Algebra and a community college student in Physiology.My educational philosophy includes an emphasis on continued practice to reinforce learning. I have the patience and tenacity to help students achieve their goals and to improve their ability to solve problems at every level.
