Experience

I have been tutoring or substitute teaching since 2000. I have had 40 hours in-depth substitute teacher training by LAUSD & "subbed" for three years in LA county, and also in Leavenworth, Kansas. I enjoy students learning & gaining insight on subjects that used to be difficult for them. I try to design a personal guided tour through each students problem areas to further enhance their understanding of a subject.

I particularly relate to the middle school ELA learner. This age student usually has an educational base to support research but lacks ideas of how to develop a project. Sometimes they have excellent ideas which need mentoring for fruition. My main "comfort zone" is 3rd-8th graders.
