Experience

I have tutored organic chemistry for the past eighteen years at the university level. Currently, I am a Chemistry Professor at Mohave Community College in Bullhead City, Arizona. I have taught at Fullerton College in Fullerton California and Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California. I have taught the MCAT organic chemistry for the Princeton Review in Irvine, and some chemistry lab classes at CSUF. I am able to make you understand chemistry, instead of memorize it; and you will not need to use the book. I have tutors student from many different schools, including Harvard, Norte Dame, Duke, USC, UCLA, University of the Pacific, Vanguard, Chapman, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, CSU Fullerton, CSU Northridge, CSU Dominguez Hills, Irvine Valley College, Fullerton College, Cypress College, Santa Ana College, Rancho Santiago College and West Coast College. Testimonials: Sachin, from Harvard University, preemptive study of Synthetic Chemistry (Chem 20): Anthony is a remarkable tutor for several reasons: 1) very organized teaching style, 2) great depth and clarity, 3) patience, 4) simplification of concepts, 5) uses 10 different books to convey a lot of examples for different reactions. He is definitely prepared me for Chem 20, one of the most demanding classes at Harvard. Kelly, from Notre Dame University, preemptive study of Organic Chemistry B: Anthony is by far the best tutor I have ever had in organic chemistry. He explains things in such great detail and is such a positive teacher. I am so lucky to have worked with him. Thanks Anthony! Samar, from USC, tutored during study of Organic Chemistry A and B: Anthony is a wonderful tutor. He is patient and explains concepts at a level you can understand. He is very professional as well. I would highly recommend Anthony as a tutor. Sara, from Vanguard University, tutored for the ACS final exam: Anthony makes O-chem understandable and fun. He always provides examples that help further your understanding. And whenever you answer correctly he is so encouraging. I learned more with him in 4 weeks than I learned in two semesters in the classroom. Ashley, from UCLA, tutored for the MCAT: My name is Ashley and currently attend UCLA. Anthony helped me with the O-Chem topics in the MCAT. He explains very well and has made the topics very clear. He was especially helpful with the SN1/SN2 mechanisms. Thanks! -Ashely Amanda, from Duke University, preemptive study of Organic Chemistry A: "Anthony was a good tutor and he explains..." - this is what Anthony told me to write. He is a good tutor though, so I'll give him that. He's a great guy who understands that organic chemistry isn't everyone's favorite hobby, but he will give you a hard time if you go to the beach instead of study. As long as you put in the effort, Anthony can teach you. Give him and yourself a chance.

Hobbies

I am very patient, and have tutored students with ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, handicapped, elderly and geniuses. I am able to adapt to your tutoring level. Professors expect you to be at their level, but they do not teach you how to get to their level. I simplify concepts to their basic level for you to understand, then take you up to the professors level. You will be able to answer questions in class and will be able to understand and explain details not clarified by your professor or the book.
